My grandfather Lionel Whiting went into business with his father-in-law and brother-in-law. Here is the business card for Johnstone + Whiting!

Hello Chris, The Johnstone’s are also in my family tree. I’m the grandson of your Grandfather’s brother’s family line. Charles John Johnstone who married Alice May Johnstone, we were the Balmain Johnstone’s. David Thorburn and Alice married and their daughter Eileen Louisa Thorburn is my Grandmother from Lane Cove. I have been researching the Johnstone family line back in England and have some news for you. Hope we can connect. regards John

Hi Chris
Your grandfather Lionel Whiting is also part of our family tree. We knew him as Uncle Lionel, father of Richard and Sandra and son of our Aunty Elsie Whiting. I moved from Sydney to Perth in 1962 so lost track of my cousins although I have kept in touch with Lindsay Manton in Mosman who I believe knows Sandra. My Memory is of Uncle Lionel at at Amos & Son? in Cowles Road. We were living in Countess Street at that time. Our family spent many a happy holiday at The Entrance with Aunty Ruby, Uncle Lionel, Richard and Sandra. Great memories. Regards
Rob Stirling
