What was the name of the house formerly at 23 Clifford Street – was it Tyron or Tyuron?
The house was reported as Tyron in December 1911, when 82-year-old resident John Hunter Kirkpatrick died (Sydney Morning Herald 9 Dec 1911, p. 22). My relatives Sydney John “Jack” Fernandez and family must have moved there at the beginning of 1912, because Jack died, the report says at “Tyuron”, within a few months of their arrival: Jack Fernandez died aged just 46, on 17 April 1912. The following year we find Jack’s widow Emily living there with her mother Elizabeth Mallinson. Grateful for any information.
